July 2009 update
Congratulations, they have a website now
They have registered a domain and created a new website. I must say, it's a poor
quality site, in terms of both design and navigation.
Sections of it are still Lorem ipsum text. How hard could it
be to write some proper text?
The funniest part is the mission statement. I won't quote the whole thing,
but here are a few choice phrases.
- Outstanding service is our prime concern. The only thing
that was "outstanding" in the service I received from them was that
they could reject my mail for 9 months, fail to investigate my
repeated complaints (in person, on the phone, and by certified mail)
about that, and then not make the situation right. That's
"outstanding" in the sense that it "stands out", and not in a good
way.
- Our most popular service is the private mail boxes with an
impressive Beverly Hills street address (not a P.O. box number) in
either the well known 90210 or 90212 zip codes - Yes, you do
indeed get an impressive mailing address in 90210 or 90212, and I had
that, but I didn't get my mail. When people send you a letter
and it comes back marked "return to sender", that certainly does make
an impression, but it probably isn't the impression you want to
make.
- We pack and ship anything anywhere as a United Parcel Service
(UPS) - Yes, but do read Ed Roman's rant about
UPS shipping from a non-UPS store. You pay substantially higher fees
and UPS will tell you that it's not their fault if something is
missing.
- We know that you have a choice of business services, but if you
require the best join those who trust Beverly Hills Postal Place - well,
I know the experience I've had there, and I saw two comments on Google
that expressed similar opinions. Those comments were deleted; I do wonder what
kind of experiences other people there have had.
- Honored by the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce. I'll keep that in mind
whenever I hear of other commendations from the BH CoC.
It's a poorly-executed template website. The parts of it that are
not Lorem ipsum appear to be boilerplate mission statement type of
stuff. "Outstanding service is our prime concern" - I can almost hear
the Indian accent in that.
Still waiting to hear from them.
